IMON International is a leading microfinance institution (MFI) in Tajikistan, offering financial and non-financial services to urban and rural micro-entrepreneurs. The MFI was originally founded by the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan in partnership with Mercy Corps in 1999.

An evolving MFI

IMON has since evolved into a savings MFI, obtaining a banking license in 2013. IMON has been a partner of Oikocredit since 2007, receiving seven loans totalling € 8.4 million. IMON is the only MFI in Central Asia which received a rating of ‘A’ by MicroFinanza Rating for its social and financial operations.

Latest deal

In July 2013, Oikocredit approved € 4.2 million (TJS 26.2 million), part of which can be used by IMON as a revolving credit line for 36 months to support its new financial products.
