Next week Oikocredit’s members, board and staff will travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia to attend the Oikocredit annual general meeting (AGM).

Meetings for the cooperative's members, board and staff will begin at the start of next week, with the AGM to be held on Friday 14 June.

94 members from over 20 countries

Every year, Oikocredit selects a different country to hold its AGM. This enables Oikocredit members to meet different staff and also have the opportunity to visit a variety of partners. This year in Cambodia, 94 members from over 20 different countries and five continents will be represented.

Attendees will visit various partner end-clients to see first-hand the financial and social benefits Oikocredit brings. These partners will include four microfinance institutions:

  • Angkor Mikroheranhvatho Kampuchea Co. Ltd (AMK)
  • Chamroeun Microfinance Ltd.
  • KREDIT Microfinance Institution
  • VisionFund Cambodia (VFC)

Insight into Cambodia's past

Attendees will also hear from Youk Chhang, executive director of the Documentation Centre of Cambodia (DC-CAM). The DC-CAM is an independent Cambodian research centre that compiles and documents information and stories about Cambodia’s recent history.

Four new board members

This year at the AGM, four new board members will be voted in and the social performance results for 2012 will be released.
