It was a busy Monday morning when we arrived at Banco Ademi’s headquarters. Banco Ademi is a savings and credit bank that partnered with Oikocredit in 2008.
Banco Ademi’s executive president, Guillermo Rondón, welcomed us with a presentation on the bank. Banco Ademi’s clients mostly have micro, small and medium enterprises which are served by its 58 offices across the entire country.
Its newest credit product, préstamo micro 3, targets microentrepreneurs through group loans. Banco Ademi plans to expand in rural areas through the financing of banana, cocoa and dairy (milk and cheese) value chains.
Thanks to its financial education programme, around 80,000 people have been trained in business management and budget issues.
After a presentation about the partner, we visited three Banco Ademi clients (known as end-clients) located in different areas across Santo Domingo.
