Thos joined Oikocredit in April 2017. As Managing Director, Thos is responsible for steering and implementing the global strategy at Oikocredit. In addition to heading the day-to-day operations, he is responsible for representing Oikocredit as the organisation’s main spokesperson.

Before coming to Oikocredit, Thos worked in leadership positions at Rabobank, an international cooperative bank headquartered in the Netherlands, for nearly 30 years, including positions in the Netherlands, Chile and Australia.

His thorough knowledge and expertise in international finance includes rural lending. Thos holds a Master’s degree in development economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish.

Thos has been Oikocredit’s Managing Director since April 2017.

Bart joined Oikocredit on 1 August 2015. He holds an MBA from Nijmegen University and has extensive international business and leadership experience, with a background in microfinance, business innovation and structured finance in emerging markets.

Bart began his career as an officer in the Royal Netherlands Air Force before joining ABN AMRO where he stayed for almost 10 years in international private banking and business development in new growth markets.

Prior to joining Oikocredit, Bart was the founder and CEO of Musoni, the world’s first 100% cashless microfinance institution in Kenya.

Ging joined Oikocredit in 1999 as Deputy Regional manager for the Southeast Asia regional office.

She subsequently held positions as Regional Manager Southeast Asia and Monitoring & Administration manager before becoming Oikocredit’s first Social Performance Manager in 2009.

In 2012 Ging was appointed Social Performance and Financial Analysis Director and joined the Managing Board. Since 2015 she has headed the Investor Relations and Social Performance Department. From mid-2016 until early 2017 Ging carried out the additional role of Interim Managing Director.

Prior to joining Oikocredit, Ging worked for various organisations in Asia, including Asia Partnership for Human Development in Hong Kong, and the National Secretariat for Social Action, Justice and Peace in the Philippines.

She has a degree in business administration from the University of the Philippines.

Petra is Director of Human Resources and a member of the Managing Board since February 2018. She joined Oikocredit in August 2016 as Global Head of Human Resources.

She has extensive HR experience in international philanthropy and financial services. In her own career, she is passionate about people development, especially in organisations that aim to have a transformative and positive impact on society.

From 2013, prior to joining Oikocredit, she spent over three years as Global Human Resources Director for Porticus, an international family-owned philanthropy. This followed the position of Human Resources Manager for family office Anthos (2009 to 2012) and other roles for a domestic insurance cooperative as well as the Dutch cooperative bank Rabobank.

Petra holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from the University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam. She also attended an executive education programme in human resources strategy at the London Business School.  

She is a member of the European Leadership Platform in Amsterdam. As a volunteer, Petra works for Ouderenfonds Nederland and supports migrants in learning the Dutch language.

Irene has been working for Oikocredit since 2010.

Irene van Oostwaard was appointed a member of the Managing Board of Oikocredit International in November 2013 and is responsible for Oikocredit’s Finance Department.

Irene joined Oikocredit in 2010 as an Internal Auditor, and became Deputy Director Finance, ICT & Risk Management in April 2013. Prior to joining Oikocredit, she spent 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers accountants in the Netherlands.

Irene is a member of the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds graduate and post-graduate degrees in accountancy from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Laura joined Oikocredit in December 2017 and leads the organisation’s Risk Department.

Previously Laura was Managing Director of Risk and Finance and a management board member at impact investor Triodos Investment Management. This followed positions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer at insurance company Nationale Borg and several roles with ING Group.

Laura holds a master’s degree in tax law from the University of Leiden and a master’s in financial economics from TIAS business school.
